Folia’s comprehensive service ranges from single consultation to full design and build for all hard landscaping and planting, with strong emphasis on working closely with clients.
Each part of the project is quoted for separately in advance and can therefore be staged.

The first point of contact is always a consultation meeting followed by a report, which gives you the chance to discuss things in a relaxed way, and to get a good feel for their approach.

This visit is to establish the extent of the project – complete design or just a small part of the whole. We can assess the site and put forward initial recommendations and suggestions. Indeed, this may be sufficient to enable you to continue without any more design input. However, where more work is required, the stages that follow are:

Survey Visit:

To properly assess site and take accurate measurements, imperative if plans are to be drawn.

Presentation of Draft Design:

This gives you a chance to make comments and confirm that you are happy with what is being proposed.

Detailed Master Plan:

A working document that gives layout with materials, features and key planting.

Construction Drawings:

Produced as necessary and generally used for specification of the finer details.

Planting Plan:

For a full or framework planting schedule where required, with plant lists and maintenance guide.

Appointing a Landscaping Contractor:

We regularly work with several landscapers in the area, both for building and for planting, but you are free to appoint your own preferred landscaper or get other quotes.

Monitoring Construction:

Tto ensure that the whole project is carried out to everyone’s satisfaction.

Plant Supply and Positioning:

Making sure the right plants are put in the right place.

Note:

There is a standard charge for the initial consultation visit and report. Thereafter fees are worked out dependent on input required from Folia.

Working with an independent designer gives you the freedom to choose how the project progresses – whether it is completed in one go, or phased over several years; whether you do any of the work yourself or whether you contract out.
